Data is the new oil. It’s the currency of the future. And it was good to see, at this year’s Data Talent Scotland event, that hundreds of Scotland’s students have recognised the importance of data in virtually every area of business life, and have spent the last few years studying data science, analytics and engineering.
The event attracted a hotbed of talent and it was encouraging to chat to the next generation of data talent, find out what they had been studying and discuss the centrality of data collection and management for Castlight as we use it to extract behavioral insights and shape products to create a safer financial world.
Castlight’s Data Challenge
Castlight Financial is growing fast as more of the UK’s lenders partner with us and we are constantly looking to attract the most exciting data talent in the country. So, surrounded by bright and lively minds at Data Fest – we decided to lay down a challenge.
We asked the graduates to think about ways in which data science can be used to create a safer, financial world. We challenged them to think of an idea, get in touch and pitch it to us by April 30th. The prize for the best idea? That would be a job at Castlight!
We believe in investing in young talent and are looking forward, with excitement, to see what ideas are pitched to us and then to announcing our newest data scientist recruit.
